• 1 part Midori® Melon Liqueur
• 2 parts sweet and sour mix
• 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
• Mix all ingredients and serve over ice. Rim with super sour sugar. Garnish with a lemon wedge

The mother of all rings - KIM KARDASHIAN

As most of you know Ms. Kardashian got engaged last week to Kris Humphries.  Here is her beautiful ring designed by Kris with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, a longtime Kardashian friend.  The 16.5-carat emerald cut center stone is flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids, for a total weight of 20.5 carats! Now thats a ring. 

Kate Winslet - Oops

Ms. Winslet is beautiful.  She has great bone structure and perfectly shaped brows and even at first glance this picture looks flawless.  However, if you look at it again you will notice its a little flat.  This is a result of no blush or lip colour.  She looks very neutral.  She needs the blush to help give contracts to her face.  Without lipstick her lips almost blend into her face. As perfect as her natural face is when you wear makeup you need the works so it looks good on camera.

Claire Danes & Naomi Watts - Rockin' the same look

Here are two Hollywood Hot Ladies rockin' a very simple and classic look that can work for any occasion day or night.  Its a simple pearlized light gold, champaign or silver eyeshadow (depending on your skin colour try ANNABELLE 121) on the lids.  Matched with a black kohl eyeliner with a couple of layers of mascara.  Fresh light blush ( I suggest NARS Orgasm) and a lip colour slightly darker then your natural lip colour.

Eva Longoria - Oops!

EVA LONGORIA must have been in a hurry. This is a very unfortunate incident.  Typically when a make up artist is does a makeup application, she will put a powder under the eyes to catch any shadow that may fall and sweep it off at the end.  I am assuming that Ms. Longoria was in a hurry and ran out before her makeup artist could wipe the extra powder off.

Tan Gone Right - DIY

A touch of sunshine and a light tan can make you look healthier and slimmer and make you feel sexier. With the use of Bronzer you can achieve that healthy looking glow. 

There are two forms of bronzer: powder and cream.

Powder bronzer is suitable for normal to oily skin.

To apply the bronzer you should use a big brush similar to a blush brush which will help to softly dust the powder bronzer on your face. 

Dab the brush into the color; tap it on the back of your hand in order to remove any excess. Lightly sweep the powder across the areas you would like to bronze. Focus on areas the sun naturally hits your face. Pay special attention to your cheekbones, chin, nose and area around the eyes. Using a circular motion, You should start to apply powder application on the cheek apple and brush on bronzing powder. 

Cream bronzer is suitable for all skin types and especially for dry skin. 

Unlike the powder, you need to use sponge or your own fingers to apply the bronzer. Exfoliate your skin well before applying the bronzer. 

Similar to the brush application dab your sponge into the cream. Again focus on the ares you are interested in highlighting.  The bronzer should be applied on the apples of the cheeks. The bronzer should be blended using circular motions. Cover with bronzer your shoulders and breasts to complete the sun kissed look. The color should be built gradually to create the desired shade. 

With both types of bronzers you want to BLEND BLEND BLEND so it doesn't look like a streak across your face.  Also pick a colour that is several shades darker but not too dark or orange.  

Tan Gone Wrong

Prince Harry's on-again/off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy has gone wild with tanning and turned a nice glowing orange.  I understand the desire to look a little tanned but don't use self tanner especially on your face.  You will look orange.  The best way to achieve it is by using bronzer in the right spots.   Read my tips on the proper bronzer application in my post Tan Gone Right - DIY.

Advice From the Experts - Bouquet

Here is expert advice from co-owners Fiona Liston and Joanne Winkelaar of trendy Toronto-based flower shop Stemz (www.stemz.ca) a must-have checklist for choosing your perfect wedding bouquet.

Shape
Pick a shape that suits you. You'll want your bouquet to complement your body shape so that you feel comfortable and relaxed holding it. Traditionally, if you are petite, a smaller bouquet will suit you better. If you are tall, you can easily pick a more cascading or long architectural style. The flowers you choose will help dictate the style and look of the day.

Complexion 
It's important that your bouquet complement your colouring. If you are naturally pale, choose a richer cream to avoid pure white flowers causing a draining effect in your photographs. Rich, saturated colours complement a darker complexion.

Style of dress
If you have a chic and streamlined dress, you can really go all out and add textured or architectural flowers. If you have a lot of beading and detailing on your dress, find a flower that will enhance the details, not clash with them.

Personality
If you are shy and reserved, it may be a good idea to save the feathers and sparkly crystals for the bridal shower. If you choose a bouquet you are comfortable with, you won't be disappointed when it arrives. 

Environment and mood
The wedding venue also plays a role. Whether a place of worship or a terrace overlooking the 18th hole of a golf course, the venue will help the florist direct the bride to the right choice of florals.

Freshness
Make it a priority to ensure that the flowers you choose will withstand the duration of the day. With an open-stemmed bouquet, your florist should provide a bouquet vase to ensure freshness.

Tossing the bouquet 
If you wish to do this, order a smaller version of the bridal bouquet so you can throw it over your shoulder. Many brides find it difficult to part with the real thing!

Leighton Meester - Makeup gone wrong

Poor Leighton Meester,  There is nothing flattering about her makeup here.  Lets break this down.  Clearly she is using a liquid foundation that is giving her a slightly dewy look.  Its does have a great finish to this product.  But when you look at her she looks flat.  Her eyebrows should have been drawn in to frame her face.  (Eyebrows are the most important feature in your face.  Remember that). She is wearing a bronze, copper eyeshadow that solely on her lids and the highlighter on her eyebrow bone is non-existant. Her lipstick is too pale washing her out and her blush is again non-existant which doesn't give her the definition she needs. The only makeup that is working here is her black kohl liner which I feel makes her eyes even smaller. All this together is creating a flat face and simple a mess.  F

One can exfoliate the skin with chemical peels, microdermabrasion and retinoids. Scrubs help in removing the top layers of dead skin cells, which make your skin look dull. Exfoliating the skin once a week by using microdermabrasion keeps the skin glowing all throughout the year. Use a gentle scrub, which contains tiny grains. Big grain found in cheap scrubs can damage the skin. A chemical peel can take years of your face. Retinoids also help in removing top layers of skin cells that are dead. Toners can also be used to remove oil and dirt and makeup.

This is an example of pure perfection. The copper tones and flush lips used during this makeup application compliment her fair skin so well.  She doesn't look over done and nothing draws too much attention to her eyes or lips.  She just  looks AMAZING. The Blushing Bride Drink

Former royal mixologist Angus Winchester created a drink called "The Blushing Bride" in honour of  Prince William and Kate Middleton for their wedding day.  But since you are about to be the Blushing Bride, lets mix some up and honour you.  Here is a the recipe:

The Blushing Bride

• 3/4 oz. Tanqueray Dry Gin
• 3/4 oz. Triple Sec
• 1/2 oz. orange juice
• 1/2 oz. lemon juice
• 1/2 oz. Grenadine

Directions:

Shake all the ingredients very hard and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with flamed orange zest.

What a lucky woman! I have always loved Barbie dolls or rather any doll.  But to have one created in your likeness is spectacular. Definition of Makeup Artist & My Definition

A makeup artist is an artist whose medium is the human body, applying makeup and prosthetics for theatrical, television, film, fashion, magazines and other similar productions including all aspects of the modeling industry. 


I personally believe a makeup artist enhance your natural beauty.  Makeup shouldn't be use to hide and cover up what you already have.  The makeup artist should be able to "read" your face and know how to apply makeup that helps you look and feel beautiful
